The Cheltenham Festival is one of the highlights of the National Hunt racing calendar in the United Kingdom. It is an annual meet which takes place at Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire. The 2020 Cheltenham Festival takes place between the 10th and 13th of March with races spread across the four days.
You can expect to see over 265,000 racegoers attend over the course of the four days for what is one of the leading sporting events in the United Kingdom. One of the many reasons why people choose to attend the Cheltenham Festival is because of the buzz it provides when seeing the horse you backed win a race.
However, you do not need to be at the festival to place bets and watch the races unfold live, enjoying the excitement it brings. You can easily find Cheltenham 2020 odds and place bets online. To help you, we have produced some Cheltenham betting tips for some of the key races, which you can find below.
1. Champion Hurdle Predictions
The Champions Hurdle is without doubt the highlight of the first day of racing at the Cheltenham Festival. This has the makings of being a very exciting race as at the time of writing there is no outstanding candidate to win. However, we will begin our 2020 Cheltenham betting tips by taking a look at the favourite for the Champion Hurdle which is Epatante at 4.50 with William Hill.
Her Christmas hurdle win at Kempton makes her a real prospect and she is will suited to this fast run race. Epatante has a fantastic cruising speed and is regarded as a superstar in the making.
However, those looking for better odds could do well to back Ballyandy at 23.00 with William Hill. He won at Haydock last time out and although never quite making the Grade 1 platform, he has plenty of stamina on which to call upon and this could be crucial towards the end of the race. Ballyandy makes a good each way bet for the Champion Hurdle.
Let's move on in our Cheltenham predictions as we take a look at a race on the second day of action.
2. Betway Champion Chase Tips
Next in our Cheltenham 2020 betting tips we take a look at the Queen Mother Champion Steeple Chase which will be run on Wednesday the 11th of March. The Cheltenham betting odds have Altior at 3.00 as the joint favourite to win this race.
Nicky Henderson believes Altior is back to his best and if that is the case, it is an ominous sign for the rest of the field. However, in terms of the form book the outcome of this race is not a certainty and both Defi Du Seuil and Chacun Pour Soi will feel they have a great chance of winning.
Defi Du Seuil joins Altior at 3.00 in the Cheltenham 2020 odds with Bet365 and with form figures of 111111215 at this racetrack, Defi Du Seuil has every right to be leading the betting. Chacun Pour Soi defeated Defi Du Seuil at Punchestown last May and is on offer at 3.75 in the betting.

3. Stayers Hurdle Betting Odds
Moving on to Thursday the 12th of March and one of the leading races on this day is without doubt the Stayers Hurdle. Many of the top Cheltenham 2020 betting tips have one horse as the clear favourite to win this race and that is backed up in the betting odds.
This is a race which has been won multiple times by the same horse including Barracouda (2002 and 2003), Inglis Drever (2005, 2007, 2008) and Big Bucks (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012). We could be about to see the same thing happen this year as Paisley Park is the favourite priced at just 1.66 with Bet365. This horse has a career record of 8 wins from 11 races over hurdles and arrives at Cheltenham with two comfortable trial wins in the locker.
Paisley Park was one of the most heavily backed horses at the 2019 Cheltenham Festival and did not disappoint. Perhaps the only horse who is capable of challenging Paisley Park is Summerville Boy. He came second to Paisley Park in January on this track and has plenty of stamina to remain in the race over 3 miles. While victory is probably going to be out of reach for Summerville Boy, the odds of 11.00 with William Hill make him a good each way bet.
However, do not rule out Benie Des Dieux who at 7.00 in the betting, is sandwiched between Paisley Park and Summerville Boy.
4. Cheltenham Gold Cup 2020 Odds
Now we come to the highlight of our Cheltenham betting tips which is the Cheltenham Gold Cup. This race takes place on Friday the 13th of March and punters will be hoping that it is not an unlucky Friday the 13th for them as this is where much of the betting action takes place.
The defending winner of this race is Al Boum Photo who succeeded in 2019. The 8-year-old enjoyed a routine victory on New Year’s Day at Tramore and that performance suggests he's going to be there or thereabouts again this year. At 4.50 with Bet365, Al Boum Photo is the joint favourite in the betting along with Santini.
Santini performed well in the Cotswold Chase on Cheltenham’s Festival Trials Day and as a result his odds have dropped to match Al Boum Photo. Behind the two favourites you will find an additional four challengers including Delta Work, Lostintranslation, Clan Des Obeaux and Kemboy.
Delta Work, Lostintranslation and Clan Des Obeaux have each won Grade 1 races over 3 miles this season and are on offer at 7.00, 7.50 and 8.50 respectively. Kemboy, who has won 7 from 13 races over fences may have two defeats to his name this winter but looked good in both races and is available at 10.00 with William Hill to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
