The sport of snooker has come out of the doldrums in recent years and there are now a growing number of tournaments where snooker betting is available.

If you are looking to get a win or two, then you won’t go too far wrong without accessing the free snooker betting tips and predictions that are posted on this JohnnyBet website. Our snooker betting predictions cover all the major tournaments that take place every year.

The top betting sites such as William Hill, 1xBet or bet365 will offer in-play and ante-post snooker odds on all the matches in this and other tournaments held throughout the year. The snooker odds will be continually changing and you can bet on everything from who will win each frame to the first color to be potted.

1. Snooker Daily Predictions

Snooker was incredibly popular in the last few decades of the last century but then the sport went a bit downhill. One year saw just six world ranking events so the opportunities for snooker bets was greatly reduced. Then Barry Hearn, who managed several top players including former world champion Steve Davis, took over running snooker and the number of snooker betting predictions has increased dramatically since then.

The World Snooker championship ends at the start of May but there’s only a break until early July until the new season starts. There are qualifying events held, all of which see free snooker betting available on sites such as 1xbet. Over the next ten months, there are snooker tournaments held all over the world.

Most tournaments are held over the best of seven frames and often produce surprise results so remember that when making your snooker picks. The most valuable tournaments are fought out over a longer number of frames, especially in the final stages. The more frames there are the better as this allows you to hopefully make more money from the free snooker tips on our site.

Many are held in Europe and China as well as India and occasionally in Australia but the three tournaments that make up ‘the Triple Crown’ all take place in England and all covered by the BBC and Eurosport with lots of chances to make snooker betting predictions.

The Triple Crown tournaments begin with the UK Championship that is held in December in York. This tournament has best of 11 matches with the final over the best of 19 and the 2018 winner will receive £170,000, and lots of snooker odds will be available.

The second leg of the Triple Crown is the Masters tournament held in January. This is an invitational tournament featuring the top 16 players in the world and held at the Alexandra Palace in London. The winner of this tournament receives £200,000.

By far the largest snooker tournament is the World Championship, the final leg of the Triple Crown, which takes place at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield from April until the first May Bank Holiday Monday. The tournament runs for 17 days with matches being held over a longer number of frames, with a minimum best of 19 (10 required to win) all the way up to the final which is played out over the best of 35 frames, with the first to 18 winning the title and £250,000. The tournament has a prize fund of over £2m.

2. Popular Snooker Bets

This event gives gamblers plenty of opportunities to make snooker picks. There are plenty of snooker odds available, ranging from who will win the tournament, winner of each match, correct scores, who will win each quarter of the draw and who will score the highest break and whether a maximum 147 will be made.

That £250,000 prize isn’t the largest in snooker. There are four Home Nations tournaments held in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. They take place between October and February and if one player was to win all four tournaments they would receive a £1m bonus.

3. When and where should you bet on Snooker?

With other big money tournaments such as the International Championship (Oct/Nov) and the Shanghai Masters (Sept), there are lots of opportunities to be visiting sites such as William Hill and 1xBet to check out the snooker odds.

There’s even the Shootout tournament held in February where matches are played over a ten-minute time-span. This is the most unpredictable tournament of the season and that’s reflected by the size of the snooker odds.

Throughout the year there will be a fair number of free snooker betting tips posted on the JohnnyBet. You can expect snooker betting predictions being posted during the tournaments and even a few days before. Don't forget to also check out our volleyball free betting tips and free rugby union betting tips and predictions.

4. FAQ

4.1 🎱Where can I find free snooker betting tips?

Our best tipsters post these regularly on our JohnnyBet's website, so be sure to have a look!

4.2 🎱What is baize?

It's the name of the cloth that covers the snooker table. Usually it is green in colour.

4.3 🎱What are the rules in snooker?

Just to give you an idea, players take it in turn to pot as many balls as they can. They always have to hit the white cue ball first, which then needs to hit the object ball. If it misses, then it's called a foul. There are 21 balls in snooker- 1 white cue ball, 15 red balls worth one point each (sometimes played with fewer red balls), and six balls of different colours : yellow (2 points), green (3), brown (4), blue (5), pink (6), black (7). The balls need to be scored in the right sequence.
