The eight players will be split into two groups of four, with a round-robin format. The top two will progress to the semi-final, with the winners contesting the final. The defending champion is Caroline Wozniacki but who will challenge the Dane this year?

Read on for your WTA Finals predictions.

1. WTA Finals Predictions

Simona Halep would have qualified as the number one player but has been forced to withdraw from the tournament due to a back injury. This sees Angelique Kerber take the number one spot but she is not the favourite with the bookmakers.

The WTA Finals betting odds have Naomi Osaka as the 10/3 favourite at bet365. The Japanese player has enjoyed a tremendous breakout year on the WTA Tour, winning the US Open. Osaka also won the Premier Mandatory event at India Wells and reached the semi-final of the China Open.

However, Osaka withdrew from an event in Hong Kong and may not be 100% fit for this tournament.

Petra Kvitova and Caroline Wozniacki come next in the WTA Finals betting odds, with the former enjoying five qualifying tournament wins this season, including the Madrid Open. However, much of her success came early in year and the same can be said for Wozniacki, who won the Australian Open at the start of the campaign.

Wozniacki returned to form with a win in Beijing and at 5/1 with bet365, is probably a better bet to win the WTA Finals than Kvitova, who is available at the same price.

2. WTA Finals Betting Odds

Karolina Pliskova is out at 13/2 with bet365 to win the WTA Finals but could be the player to come through and lift the title. The Czech defeated Osaka in the final at Toray Pan Pacific, which is a great result considering the recent achievements of the Japanese player. Pliskova reached the quarter-final of two Grand Slam events this season and will be keen to continue where she left off in Tokyo.

The outsider for the 2018 WTA Finals is Kiki Bertens. The Dutch player will participate in the event due to the withdrawal of Halep. She has enjoyed a good season, winning three titles and reached the final in Madrid, which is a Premier Mandatory tournament.

This is a huge event for Bertens and she is out at 10/1 with bet365 to cause an upset and win the WTA Finals.
