They may have disappointed in the semi-final of the Champions League, but Barcelona were unstoppable in La Liga during the 2018/19 campaign.

The Catalan giants won the title by 11 clear points, netting 90 goals and losing just 3 of 38 matches. It was a very good display and saw them finish well clear of major rivals, Real Madrid.

It was another poor showing from Real Madrid, who finished in third place for the second season in succession. They also failed to deliver the goods in the Champions League, losing to Ajax in the Round of 16. Zinedine Zidane returned to the club but could not rediscover his golden touch from previous seasons.

What will happen this season in the Spanish Primera Division? We will try to figure it out with our La Liga 2019/2020 predictions.

1. 2019/2020 La Liga Winner Betting Odds

Real Madrid did not hit the heights last season following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. They have made moves in the transfer market to help fill the void left by the Portuguese international but will it be enough to overturn Barcelona at the top of the table?

Atletico Madrid have also been busy in the transfer market but failed to hold on to their prized asset, Antoine Griezmann. The Frenchman left to join La Liga rivals Barcelona but Atletico Madrid will hope the new additions to their squad will push them closer to the summit this season.

Valencia finished fourth last season but they were some way off the pace in terms of the leaders. It would be a surprise were they to push for the title this season but only Barcelona and Atletico Madrid lost fewer games than Valencia last season, making them tough to beat.

That means, realistically, we are left we the three regular contenders for the La Liga title but which team from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will come out on top? Read on for our La Liga betting tips and odds.

2. Barcelona – Favourites?

The 2019/20 La Liga betting odds have Barcelona as the favourites to win the title, priced at 8/11 with Bet365. The Catalan giants have dominated the league in the past two seasons and there is no reason why they cannot do the same in this campaign.

The fitness of Lionel Messi will of course be key to their chances and the Argentine will need to be fit for most of the season. However, Barcelona have been keen to add to their squad and Antoine Griezmann is the major addition of the summer. The World Cup winner will join Luis Suarez and Messi in a fantastic looking attacking three, which will be difficult to stop.

Other transfers include Frenkie de Jong from Ajax, a player who enjoyed a great Champions League with Ajax last season. The midfielder should fit in well with the Barcelona style of play. Junior Firpo, Emerson and Neto were the three other major additions but it remains to be seen just how big a part they will play in 2019/20.

Barcelona also have teenage sensation Ansu Fati in their ranks, it will be exciting to follow his development this season.

3. Real Madrid

It's tough to predict exactly what sort of season it will be for Real Madrid. The summer was far from smooth and the ongoing saga of Gareth Bale has hit the headlines. It seemed as though the Welshman was being forced out of the club and on the brink of a move to China but that collapsed and now Bale is back in Zinedine Zidane’s plans this season.

The addition of Eden Hazard could be huge and he is the man expected to push Real Madrid on from last season. The Belgian has proven to be one of the best in the Premier League in recent years and there is no reason why he cannot take that form to Spain.

Hazard joins Ferland Mendy, Luka Jovic, Eder Militao and Rodrygo as the big money signings for Real Madrid this summer and it will be interesting to see how they fit into the team during the course of the season.

The 2019/20 La Liga betting odds have Real Madrid as the second favourites for the title, priced at 17/10 with Bet365.

4. Atletico Madrid

Last but not least in our La Liga predictions we come to Atletico Madrid. The loss of Antoine Griezmann has been the major talking point at the Wanda Metropolitano but Rodri, Lucas Hernandez, Diego Godin and Filipe Luis and Juanfran has also left the club, in what has been a summer of big upheaval.

However, Diego Simeone has not been afraid to splash the cash and has gone big on Joao Felix. The 19 year old Portuguese forward is tipped to become one of the biggest stars in world football and it is a sign of intent from Atletico Madrid that they spent over £100 million on this player. Other new arrivals include Marcos Llorente, Mario Hermoso, Kieran Trippier, Felipe and Renan Lodi.

It will be intriguing to watch how Simeone forms his team this season but if there is one man who is capable, it’s the Argentine.

Atletico Madrid make an interesting bet to win La Liga this season at 9/1 with Bet365.
