The annual Caulfield Guineas 2017 will be held at the Caulfield Racecourse this year. This race will be run on the 14th of October which will be on a Saturday. It will start at 4:30 pm just after the Thousand guineas race. The race is a Group 1 level race and a major 3-year old race of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. The Caulfield Guineas prelude that was held on the 1st of October at the Caulfield Racecourse was won by Perast who is priced at 10.00 with William Hill. The first runners-up were Summer Passage followed closely by Kementari. The prelude has previously produced 6 out of the past 12 winners and during this weekend’s race, seven of those who participated in the prelude will be in the main event. Also, although Perast's win, he loses to Catchy when it comes to betting odds because it's priced a 4.80.
