1. The Caulfield Preludeand and last year’s race

The Caulfield Guineas prelude that was held on the 1st of October at the Caulfield Racecourse was won by Perast who is priced at 10.00 with William Hill. The first runners-up were Summer Passage followed closely by Kementari. The prelude has previously produced 6 out of the past 12 winners and during this weekend’s race, seven of those who participated in the prelude will be in the main event. Also, although Perast's win, he loses to Catchy when it comes to betting odds because it's priced a 4.80.

Around this time last year the Divine Prophet, who is Sydney trained three years old, won the race narrowly. This was made possible by the rider, Dwayne Dunn. More is given to the trainer and the mentor John Hawkes who by the years has been put fifth in the Group 1 Australia’s all-time list of trainers. Horses drew 8 and lower have an advantage.

2. Bookies favourite

The favorite is definitely the Tony McEvoy trained Royal Symphony. The Royal Symphony drew barrier 9 after speculations were that they had drawn barrier 6 with a 4.2 at William Hill. He had an impressive win at the Flemington early this year.

The Stan Fox Stakes which is a 1500m race has brought out the last three winners of the Caulfield Guineas. Several who participated in the Stan Fox Stakes are now looking to keep the trend that way. Including Waterhouse Gai who also lost in the Golden Rose race. The Mission who led the 2017 Stan Fox Stakes will also participate in the Caulfield Race. He is currently being priced at a win of 61.00 with William Hill. He is definitely a good bet to place on with William Hill and is also one to look after. Though still not in the front of other races his improvement is one to look at. William Hill gives us the same odds for Azazel who is currently also being priced at 61.00.
