1. Cheltenham 2021 betting tips
The Cheltenham Gold Cup is the highlight of the four day festival of horse racing and traditionally takes place on Friday afternoon. The winner of the 2020 Cheltenham Gold Cup was Al Boum Photo who claimed the race for the second year in succession. It was the first time since Best Mate in 2003 that a horse has won the Cheltenham Gold Cup back-to-back and Best Mate went on to win it for a third time in 2004.
As the trainer of Al Boum Photo and Paul Townend put it:We just decided not to break a winning formula and it’s paid off. I thought this year’s Gold Cup wasn’t anything like last year’s, and that if he had a clear round and a bit of luck, then it was all to play for. - Willie Mullins, www.theguardian.com
Al Boum Photo will be hoping to emulate Best Mate by doing the same in 2021 and the horseracing ante-post odds at Bet365 have Al Boum Photo as the favourite, priced at 6.00.
Bet365 cheltenham antepost also include Santini at 8.00, who finished second in 2020 and Champ at 11.00, who won the 2020 RSA Insurance Novices' Chase ahead of Minella Indo and favourite Allaho.
Allaho, who will be disappointed to have finished third in that race is also in the Cheltenham festival 2021 odds , making an intriguing prospect priced at 21.00 with Bet365.
We have more Cheltenham 2021 predictions and Cheltenham 2021 ante post tips below as we take a look at some of the other leading races due to take place at the festival in 2021.
2. Champion Hurdle - Cheltenham 2021 Ante Post Tips
Epatante was the Cheltenham ante-post favourite going into the Champion Hurdle in 2020 and delivered the goods by winning the race. Therefore, it should come as no surprise to see the same horse installed as the favourite to win the 2021 Champion Hurdle. You can back Epatante at 5.00 with Bet365.
Goshen is currently second in the betting at 6.00 but unseated the rider during the 2020 JCB Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival . However, Goshen was going well at the time and was nearly 10 lengths up before the mistake.
Envoi Allen is third in the betting for the 2021 Champion Hurdle at 9.00 with Bet365. Having been 6 lengths off the pace at the home bend before closing quickly to lead just before the last, Envoi Allen won the 2020 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle and knows what it takes to win at Cheltenham.
3. Queen Mother Champion Chase
Politologue won the 2020 Queen Mother Champion Chase but enters the Cheltenham ante-post odds betting out at 15.00 with Bet365 to win the race back-to-back. This maybe because the horse will be entered into a different race in 2021 but it pays to remember Politologue went almost unchallenged to win in 2020.
The bookmakers favourite for the 2021 Queen Mother Champion Chase is Chacun Por Soi at 6.00. He was one of the leading contenders in 2020 but he had an abscess on a foot which saw him withdraw from the race. Chacun Por Soi was expected to go head-to-head with Defi Du Seuil, who is currently at 11.00 with Bet365 in the Cheltenham horseracing odds for the 2021 Queen Mother Champion Chase.
Defi Du Seuil was a disappointing 4th in this race in 2020 and there was little explanation given for the poor performance.
4. Ryanair Chase
Min came out on top in the 2020 Ryanair Chase and the Cheltenham 2021 predictions currently point to another success in this race in 2021. Min had failed in three previous attempts to win at Cheltenham but he came good in 2020, jumping superbly at the front end and seeing off the challenge of both Saint Calvados and A Plus Tard. He may move on but if entered into this race at 2021, Min is difficult to ignore at 9.00 with Bet365.
Other early contenders for the Ryanair Chase include Samcro at 11.00, A Plus Tard at 13.00 and Altior at 17.00.
