After a two week break the Six Nations continues with an intriguing match between Scotland and England at Murrayfield.
England are the two-time defending Six Nations champions and will be aiming to add the 2018 Six Nations title to the ones they won in 2016 and 2017. However, last year England missed out on the Grand Slam and Triple Crown, tasting defeat to Ireland in their final match and will hoping to put that right.
Scotland started this campaign with high hopes following a good tournament last year and a promising Autumn campaign. Scotland have finished with the Wooden Spoon four times in the history of the Six Nations but should avoid it this time around.
1. Scotland vs England Rugby Odds
England have not only enjoyed success in the Six Nations over the past two years but they have dominated Scotland for many years. England have won nine of the last ten meetings between the teams and three of those wins have come at Murrayfield.
The English were a little fortunate to come away with the win against Wales in their previous match and will be keen to put on a show in this game. England are 1.40 favourites to win the match with Bet365.
Scotland were hoping to get their 2018 Six Nations campaign off to a good start in Wales but were taken apart by the Welsh in the opening stages, in what was a very disappointing performance by the Scots.
They gathered themselves well for the following match, at home against France to record a 32-26 win over France. The French took an early lead but Scotland came back into the match and six penalties for Scotland’s Greig Laidlaw made the difference.
This will give Scotland a boost in confidence ahead of this match and the home crowd will hope to push their players towards victory. Scotland are 3.00 to win the match with and the draw, which happened at Murrayfield in 2010, is on offer at 26.00, with Ladbrokes.
2. Scotland vs England Predictions
Despite defeating Scotland in each of their previous three visits to Murrayfield, England have not always had things all their own way and two of those victories have been by a 7 and 6 point margin. Scotland are unlikely to play open, expansive rugby after what happened against Wales and a narrow, 6 to 10 point England win is available at 6.00 with William Hill.
Handicap betting often produces some of the best odds for Six Nations betting and if Scotland perform to their best, they could run England close in this game. Scotland to win with a +6 handicap is 1.91.
With a two week break between matches, both teams should be close to full strength and the other competing nations will be hoping Scotland can produce a shock victory to leave the 2018 Six Nations wide open.
However, at 1.83 with William Hill, England remain the outright favourites, followed by Ireland at 2.20. Scotland are rated as outsiders for the title, priced at 34.00.
